Arvato is a wholly owned subsidiary of Arvato Bertellsman, a German business process outsourcing company with a presence in more than 40 countries worldwide. In the UK, Arvato delivers outsourced services within Supply Chain Management, Financial Solutions and CRM with a diverse employee base spread across multiple locations. As part of a strategic review of their supply chain operations, Arvato needed to close a distribution facility in Milton Keynes and looked to Renovo to support their employees into new opportunities quickly and effectively.
As a whole site closure, affecting over 170 employees, Arvato needed support that was flexible enough to match a very broad range of differing needs, ranging from Warehouse Operatives to Heads of Operations. Many of the employees impacted had very long tenure within the business with low levels of exposure to the modern recruitment market and quite high levels of anxiety about identifying new opportunities after redundancy.
Renovo worked with the business to put together a comprehensive programme which combined on- site group workshops and on-site career clinics built around shift patterns, personalised career coaching, online career tools and resources and emotional and wellbeing support. On-site support was delivered at the start of the programme and included the coordination of local recruitment organisations and direct employers who came on site to discuss potential opportunities in the local area. Post departure, employees were further supported with access to unlimited support from a Personal Career Coach to support their entire job search.
