RENOVO REPORTS 195% BUSINESS INCREASE IN
The recruitment division of Renovo Employment Group (formerly known as Hamilton Caine) has reported exceptional performance within its specialist procurement division for the first quarter of 2011.
Since the start of the year the division has reported a 195% increase in business like-for-like against the first quarter of 2010. As a traditionally ‘quiet’ period this is an encouraging sign for the business moving forward, but it is also reflective of the shift in role priority within large organisations.
Jane Oliver, Head of Renovo’s procurement recruitment team, said “During the challenging market conditions of the last three years the profile of the procurement department within many organisations has grown significantly. Businesses are recognising that a strong procurement team can significantly impact the bottom line and that recruiting some genuine talent can, in many cases, deliver significantly greater cost reduction opportunities and drive long term value through well founded supplier relationships.”
“Within many organisations we are also now seeing much more sophisticated procurement teams being put in place. A focus on more specialist roles such as e-sourcing systems specialists, ‘best in class’ procurement training and supplier risk management has been noticeable. For example supplier risk specialists are a worthy investment given the volatility of the market where smaller suppliers are at risk”
“Salary levels within many of the larger companies, where they can rely on the brand and business security as well as the additional benefits packages to attract candidates, have been kept at the same level for three years. Some of the smaller businesses have reacted competitively to the desire to grow their strategic sourcing teams by offering slightly higher basic salaries and recognising that they need to attract the best talent out there, not necessarily the most readily available.”
Jane, who started her career at Morgan McKinley under the leadership of founder David Twiddle (now Chief Executive of Renovo), leads a team of specialists that serve major blue chip clients in professional services and the financial sector. She concludes, “We are a small team of experts with strong pedigree and proven success in accessing hard to find candidates at mid to senior level for blue chip businesses and developing SME’s. Our first quarter results are indicative of a successful year and we expect to double our team of consultants by the end of the year.”
